The year of 2019 seems to be very propitious for actress Rakul Preet Singh. Earlier this year she gave box office blockbuster De De Pyaar De and her recent release Marjaavaan is also registering good numbers.
The actress has even started working for her another new untitled project with Arjun Kapoor. Now, it has been reported that she has landed another big movie. Pinkvilla has reported that Rakul has been roped in to star with John Abraham and Jacqueline Fernandez in Attack. Interestingly her film with Arjun Kapoor is co-produced by John Abraham.
Talking about same, a source said, “It is a two-heroine project. Both the roles are really powerful and action-oriented. The team was scouting for two good looking actors who can also perform and do stunts really well. It’s then that they took the film to Rakul Preet Singh. She was their first choice for the role.”
Rakul has also green lit the project. The source adds, “She loved the script and her role in it. The final modalities are being worked out. Post that, the team will make an official announcement of the same soon. It goes on floors in January next year.”
Attack is written and directed by debutant Lakshya Raj Anand who assisted Kabir Khan on New York and Ek Tha Tiger, and Siddharth Anand on Bang Bang. The film will be produced by Dheeraj Wadhawan and Ajay Kapoor’s Kyta Productions and John’s JA Entertainment.
The film is expected to release on 14 August next year where it will be clashing with Ajay Devgn’s Bhuj: The Pride of India. Announcing the release date of the film, John said, “Attack opens on August 14. I have come to believe that the day belongs to me, not just believe that the day belongs to me, not just because it is a national holiday but also for the feelings it brings forth. Attack is an apt Independence Day release, patriotic without being jingoistic.”
